Hatsan Introduces Multi-Caliber PCP Rifle: The Hydra

Hatsan Introduces Multi-Caliber PCP Rifle: The Hydra

From Hatsan

Yet another innovation from the Hatsan factory is their new Hydra QE. It features their patented Versi-Cal Technology interchangeable caliber system that allows one to trade calibers with a single thumb screw. The VCT system couples a caliber-specific receiver and barrel into a single interchangeable module that allows a scope to remain mounted and zeroed with each caliber used. A knurled screw located at the rear of the receiver locks the upper module onto the lower receiver, allowing caliber changes in just a few seconds. The Hydra QE utilizes Hatsan’s S/Roto-Index magazine system – a caliber specific self-indexing rotary magazine made from a lightweight-yet-durable synthetic polymer. Each module features Hatsan’s QuietEnergy shrouded barrel that reduces downrange noise by up to 50%.

A fourth module is also available that will allow shooters to use the rifle with commercially available crossbow arrows. This module features a hollow guide rod for the arrow to slide over. It accepts 20″ 2219 aluminum and carbon fiber arrows with a 0.30″ inside diameter. The same modular air rifle platform can now be used for target and small game hunting with pellets, then be swapped in seconds for larger game hunting without the need to buy another complete airgun.

A fine Turkish walnut stock is laser engraved with ample texturing on critical grip surfaces that enhances the feel and control of the rifle. A Monte Carlo style cheek rest rises up to just the right height for use with scopes. The rubber butt pad is both elevation and fit angle adjustable for a custom fit to each shooter. A fixed 165cc air cylinder fills to 2900 PSI and can provide up to 35 powerful shots. Weighing in at just 6.8 lbs, this modular platform airgun is easy to carry and shoot. The Hatsan Hydra is available in .177, .22, or .25 caliber – with additional barrel/receiver modules available separately.

Prep Before Storms Arrive this Summer Advises NOAA

Prep Before Storms Arrive this Summer Advises NOAA

From NOAA

This hurricane season is predicted to be a very active one. NOAA’s Climate Prediction Center is forecasting 13-19 named storms, 6-10 hurricanes and 3-6 major hurricanes. Please take this time to review your hurricane preparedness and evaluate your Critical Incident Disaster Plan, including a plan for what you and your family will do in the event you need to evacuate due to a natural disaster.

Here are a few things you can do right now to prepare:

  1. Know the hazards that are present in your area.
  2. Review your insurance policies and confirm you have adequate coverage against each type of disaster you are vulnerable to.
  3. Take a household and animal inventory and store copies in a safe location or online. Cataloging your belongings with a home inventory might sound tedious, but how easy would it be for you to recall all the contents of your home if you lost everything? Taking a home inventory can save you time and headaches when filing a claim following a disaster.
  4. Prepare a disaster plan. Your plan should start with having somewhere safe to go. Think of someone who could house you, your family and your wildlife. Talk to them about what might happen in the event of a disaster. Then talk to everyone who lives in your home about what to do if there is an emergency and you are unable to return in a timely manner.
  5. Have a communications plan. Consider that your family may not be together if a disaster strikes. How you will get to a safe place? How will you contact one another? How will you get back together? You will be better prepared to safely reunite your family and loved ones during an emergency if you think ahead and communicate with others in advance. Your family should have a list of emergency contact numbers they can phone.
  6. Have an evacuation plan. In some cases when you need to evacuate, there may not be a lot of time. Plan how to evacuate your home quickly and make sure everyone knows the evacuation plan.
  7. Supplies. In the event of a natural disaster please ensure that you have enough supplies to cover both your family’s needs as well as those of your wildlife.
  8. Practice the steps that are needed to disconnect your home’s gas, water, and electricity. Test your generators to ensure they are operational and have backup supplies.
  9. Before any disaster, you should inspect your home/facility and eliminate any potential hazards. In an emergency, ordinary items in your home can cause injury and damage. Anything that can move, fall, break, or cause a fire is a potential hazard.
  10. Community connections are important. Make sure you know your neighbors. Exchange phone numbers and keep an eye on elderly or disabled neighbors, or people with children – they might need extra help during a natural disaster. Have your Captive Wildlife Investigator’s phone number in the event of an escape or damage to your facility.

We encourage you to review your Critical Incident Disaster Plan. These plans ensure that you are proactive in preparing for any emergency event that could potentially disrupt the orderly operation of your facility and thus, adversely impact public safety.

N8 Tactical Introduces Modular Kydex IWB Holster

N8 Tactical Introduces Modular Kydex IWB Holster

From N8 Tactical

N8 Tactical, an innovative holster company with a mission to provide quality products with superior comfort for all day, everyday carry, is pleased to announce the release of the company’s first all-Kydex holster called the KO-1.

N8 Tactical developed the KO-1 to provide diverse and customizable carry configurations for concealed carry practitioners who favor an IWB holster. The KO-1 starts with a one-piece Kydex pocket form-fitted to specific handgun models. The pocket’s slim design ensures minimal bulk and maximum concealment compared to conventional IWB holsters.

To customize fit and preferred carry style, the KO-1 is easily adjustable for ride height and cant. In addition to height and cant adjustment, the KO-1 can also be adjusted for retention. This system lets the user find the perfect tension for their draw style and preferred feel.

Two clip options are offered. The low-ride clip places the mounting hardware well below the waist band/belt line, allowing for shirts to be tucked inside the pants and behind the clip, as well as seating the handgun deeper into the pants. The high-ride clip mounts at the top of the Kydex pocket, positioning the pistol higher on the torso, making it ideal for untucked carry.

Further promoting fit and function is an optional Mod-Wing, which mounts behind the clip to provide outward tension on the waist band/belt. Featuring a reduced-slip contact surface, the Mod-Wing positions the handgun grip closer to the torso to minimize printing and to enhance overall stability for on-the-move carry conditions.

Introductory model compatibility for the KO-1 holster includes:

  • GLOCK 26/27,
  • GLOCK 19/19x/23
  • GLOCK 43/43x
  • Sig 320 X Compact
  • Sig 365/365XL
  • S&W M&P 4.25″
  • Shield 9mm
  • Ruger LC9
  • 1911 5″ non-railed
  • Springfield Hellcat

As with all N8 Tactical products, the new KO-1 comes with a Two-Week, Try it Free Guarantee and a lifetime warranty.

If you’re an owner of a new Taurus G3C, the company has you covered with this model, or if you’ve gone with the Springfield Hellcat, take a look at this one.   It’s latest intro is a combat cut OT2.

The 2020 NASGW Expo Canceled

The 2020 NASGW Expo Canceled

From NASGW

The National Association of Sporting Goods Wholesalers’ Board of Directors voted unanimously to cancel the 2020 NASGW Expo that was scheduled for October in Grapevine, Texas.

NASGW leadership has been monitoring the mounting cases of COVID-19 in Texas and the expanding travel restrictions throughout the country. Despite extensive planning and precautions taken to limit risk, the health and safety of our members and the shooting sports industry is the top priority.

“As cases have continued to increase and travel restrictions are starting to expand, this decision is best for the health and safety of our members,” said Laurie Aronson, NASGW Chairwoman. “We need to protect our industry right now, and unfortunately that means canceling the NASGW Expo.”

NASGW is currently working with the hotel, convention center, and vendors regarding the cancellation. Resources for members and exhibitors will be available in the near future. NASGW is looking forward to the 2021 Expo on October 27-29 in Columbus, Ohio.

“For many in our industry, the NASGW Expo is their most productive event because it is very business focused,” said Kenyon Gleason, NASGW President. “Unfortunately, bringing people together in 2020 is not the best thing for our association, our industry, or our country. This was a very difficult decision, but one that ultimately proved the most responsible course of action.”
