Laugo Arms

Laugo Arms makes its guns in Prague, Czechoslovakia. Its operations began with the design of the M8A SMG Laugo in 2001. The firm worked in cooperation with CZ, another gunmaker in the country, to begin mass production of the firearm, but parted ways with the famed manufacturer in 2013.

In 2017 it set up independent manufacturing in Prague. Its first firearm, the only one to date, is the Alien. The company bills the pistol as having “The Lowest Bore Axis in the World.” The gas-piston-driven, fixed-barrel semi-auto pistol is chambered in 9 mm NATO. The striker-fired gun uses a delayed-blowback method of operation and won “Best of Show” at the 2020 Shooting, Hunting and Outdoor Trade Show.

It gained widespread fame in 2023 when photos showed a member of Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s personal security detail with one on his hip. Laugo Arms USA imports the pistol for sale in the United States.
