Expand Your Handgun’s Capabilities With Meprolight

Expand Your Handgun's Capabilities With Meprolight

From Meprolight

Should you upgrade the sights on your handgun? Chances are, you’re one of a million or so Americans who purchased a new handgun this past year. Thus far, you’ve done everything right; you religiously follow the four rules of gun safety, you’ve trained with your new gun at the range, you are confident with your aim point and point of impact. Most likely your training occurred under bright ideal conditions, but what happens if you have to defend yourself in less than ideal conditions—dimly lit parking garage or at night on a poorly lit street—will you be able to quickly acquire your sights, especially your front sight while under duress?

Meprolight’s engineers knew there had to be a better way to direct the eyes focus on the sight and solved this dilemma with the MEPRO Self-Illuminated Day/Night Sights . They were the first to develop contrasting, Tritium powered, colored sight combinations in order to provide the ideal day or night sight. Meprolight Tru-Dot sight dots are perfect for day, night or low-light conditions.

The highly visible MEPRO HVS Sights are available with green Tritium vials at the front and rear. To accentuate the front sight contrast, a colored ring encircles the front tritium dot . Orange and green, colors are available together with a glowing phosphoric yellow activated by light.

Models are available for over 24 handgun brands including Glock, H&K, Sig, IWI, Ruger, Springfield Armory, Smith & Wesson and CZ. Models for rifles and shotguns as well.

Like all Israeli citizens, Meprolight’s engineers served in the Israeli Defense Forces and from experience knew the limitations and demands of shooting iron sights on handguns and rifles. As a result of their hands -on learning, you can increase your capabilities to protect those around you.

All self-illuminated sights come with a 12 yr. warranty on the tritium illumination. To find your closest Meprolight™ Dealer or to learn about other outstanding Meprolight™ optics, self-illuminated day/night sights and thermal imaging devices, visit: Meprolight.US.

MidwayUSA Foundation presents the 2020 Hometown Challenge

From Midway USA Foundation

MidwayUSA Foundation’s 2020 Hometown Challenge is an online shoot and sweepstakes for the entire shooting sports community. With just over a week left there are two ways to participate. Purchase a sweepstakes entry for the chance to win over 100 prizes, including ammunition, firearms, apparel, coolers, shooting glasses, and more. Those interested can purchase additional sweepstakes entries as well for additional chances. The second way to participate in MidwayUSA Foundation’s Hometown Challenge is by registering to shoot at your local range. The virtual shoot welcomes all ages and features seven different disciplines. Shooting categories include air rifle, air pistol, trap, skeet, smallbore rifle, SASP rimfire pistol, and SASP rimfire rifle. Additionally, all virtual shoot competitors will earn a sweepstakes entry for participating!

In addition to winning great prizes, this event directly benefits young shooting athletes. All shooter registration and sweepstakes entry fees double as a donation to the MidwayUSA Foundation endowment of the participant’s choice and will be matched by the Foundation’s current Matching Program. Shooting teams and organizations can use this event as a fundraiser for their MidwayUSA Foundation endowment. Local gun clubs and shooting ranges can encourage members to compete at their range and choose a shooting team to receive the registration fees. Every donation to a shooting team’s endowment grows the team’s annual cash grant. That grant assists the team with expenses like ammo, entry fees, travel, and more!

Shooting programs and ranges wishing to promote the 2020 Hometown Challenge are encouraged to download logos and flyers on the MidwayUSA Foundation website. In addition, participants can post and share photos from their local range on social media. See the Foundation’s entire toolkit for this event at midwayusafoundation.org/htctoolkit.

Registration for the shoot and sweepstakes are now open at midwayusafoundation.org/htc. This webpage also provides a mail-in registration form and a place to submit your scores. The shooter registration deadline is October 28th and the Sweepstakes deadline is October 31st.

The MidwayUSA Foundation is a 501(c)(3) public charity working to sustain and grow the shooting sports industry by providing long-term funding to youth shooting teams. Every donation made is tax-deductible and allows the Foundation to assist in expanding and enhancing the leadership skills, confidence, and discipline of Today’s youth through shooting sports activities. The Foundation supports all shooting disciplines. For more information about how the MidwayUSA Foundation is changing the future of youth shooting sports, please visit midwayusafoundation.org.

Pennsylvania COVID Restrictions Prevent NRA’s Great American Outdoor Show for 2021

Pennsylvania COVID Restrictions Prevent NRA’s Great American Outdoor Show for 2021

From NRA

To the great disappointment of tens of thousands of sportsmen and women, COVID-related governmental restrictions in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will prevent the 2021 Great American Outdoor Show from being held as scheduled on February 6-14, 2021.

Since the NRA created the Great American Outdoor Show in 2014, the show has been a much-anticipated annual event and a major boon for the state and local economy. More than 1,100 exhibitors and tens of thousands of people from Pennsylvania and indeed around the country and globe would converge on the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex each year contributing approximately $75 million to area businesses and state coffers, according to official local estimates.

The NRA will certainly miss the opportunity to celebrate America’s great firearm, hunting, fishing and outdoor heritage, but we look forward to seeing old friends and meeting new ones at the Great American Outdoor Show scheduled to be held February 5 – 13, 2022.

The cancellation, along with Safari Club’s, raise even more questions about whether there will be a SHOT Show 2021.
