In 2014 Rich Angstadt established Angstadt Arms in Charlotte, NC, where it remains. The company’s first firearm, the UDP-9—a pistol-caliber carbine chambered in 9 mm NATO, using Glock magazines—hit the market the next year.
It subsequently submitted versions of one of its models for the U.S. Army to consider as the branch searched for a new submachine gun. It currently offers a variety of models, including some integrally suppressed and the company’s products are currently in use in more than 30 nations across the globe.
