Springfield Armory® is proud to announce the release of the XD-S Mod.2® OSP™ 9mm. Based on our most popular single-stack pistol, the XD-S Mod.2 OSP is now optics ready.

The 9mm pistol comes with a factory-milled slide for low-profile, direct mounting of compact optics for an intuitive sight picture and uninterrupted focus on target. The result is a handgun that accepts the smallest, most popular micro red dots on the market, and is also offered from the factory with an optional Crimson Trace micro red dot.

The optic mounts directly to the slide to achieve a minimum footprint and sits low enough to effectively utilize iron sights in an emergency. The sights are made up of a white dot front sight paired with an anti-glare serrated U-notch rear to ensure quick and positive target acquisition. When an optic is not present, an included seamless polymer cover plate installs with ease and adds additional slide serrations.

To ensure a long life and rugged reliability, the XD-S Mod.2 OSP features a 3.3” hammer forged barrel and matching forged slide. The pistol’s passive grip safety immediately readies the gun to fire when gripped but keeps the gun safe during carry. An additional drop safety in the striker block works in conjunction with the grip safety to provide confident carry.

Shipping with both 7- and 9-round magazines, the XD-S Mod.2 OSP offers a new take on this trusted platform. The concealable 7-round magazine features a pinky extension and the extended 9-round magazine has a grip extension for increased capacity and enhanced ergonomics. Walther Arms Law Enforcement is pleased to announce that Berrien County Sheriff’s Office in Georgia has selected the Walther PPQ M2 9mm 4” as their new duty pistol. Berrien County Sheriff’s had previously carried .40 caliber semi-auto pistols and made the decision to transition to the 9mm for a variety of reasons. Rick DeMilt, Director of Law Enforcement Sales, stated that Berrien County Sheriff’s Office chose the Walther PPQ M2 9mm for many of the same reasons that other agencies have mentioned. Outstanding ergonomics combined with the smoothest striker fired trigger system in the firearms industry and outstanding accuracy. Adding to the excellent features of the pistol is the 1/10” reset, pushed the Walther Pistol to the forefront in the selection process.

How long will polymer framed handguns last? I interviewed the experts.

Once the delivery was made to the Berrien County Sheriff’s, Dave Barnes, Law Enforcement Channel Manager traveled to the agency and conducted a detailed Walther PPQ Armorers Training Class. The training class covered the required steps

in servicing the Walther Pistols. Delivery of the Walther pistols was made through the assistance of Walther’s Law Enforcement Distributor, SSD International.

In August, the Lorain County Sheriffs Office also converted to Walthers.

Art and Engineering

Every gun in Auto-Ordnance’s Trump series is a finely crafted example of both art and engineering. The POTUS and KAG pistols are based on the Thompson 1911TC, chambered in .45 ACP. The talented artists at Outlaw Ordnance apply detailed engravings to the guns, commemorating President Trump’s administration. Each 1911 features the President’s 2020 campaign motto engraved on the left side of the slide, along with his image and the White House. On the right, the slide is engraved with “45th”, and his name. The American Flag is engraved on the dust cover. Beautiful Hogue Goncalo wood grips are engraved with the flag, and an image of President Trump. Slide and frame flats are polished, then finished with super durable Cerakote Bronze for the POTUS gun, or Cerakote Clear for the KAG model. Controls are Cerakote Armor Black. The Thompson 1911TC series pistol is made entirely in the United States. It features an adjustable trigger, skeletonized hammer, full-length recoil guide rod, extended beavertail grip safety, extended magazine release, and a checkered slide stop lever. The front and rear combat sights are black, low profile. The ejection port is flared to aid in reliable function. Both mainspring housing and front strap are machined checkered at 20 lines per inch. Each pistol’s 5″ match grade barrel is chambered in 45 ACP. One 7 round magazine is included. The MSRP for the POTUS 1911 is $1356, Model #1911TCAC4. The MSRP for the KAG 1911 is $1325, Model #1911TCAC3.

Industry Day at the Range Announces 2021 Event Cancellation

In light of the announcement on Friday, October 30, 2020 that the 2021 SHOT Show has been canceled due to COVID-19 concerns, Industry Day at the Range has also made the difficult decision to cancel all planned events on January 18, 2021.
