Dickinson Arms has introduced a new-for-2020 family of single-shot shotguns. This Ranger Series includes models designed for the shooting needs of adults and youth, as well as a short-barreled Survival model—at retail prices starting as low as $144 MSRP.
“This is an excellent first shotgun for those getting into the sport, as well as for more experienced shooters looking to add something new and unique to their collections,” said Tim Bailey of Dickinson Arms. “In the Dickinson tradition, this new Ranger Series has a look and feel of quality, despite the fact that it is so affordable. It may be somebody’s first shotgun, but they will own it and treasure it for years to come, because it is built to last and it’s fun and easy to shoot.”
The standard Dickinson Ranger features a simple and reliable break open action for easy loading and operation. It comes with a 28-inch barrel in 12-GA. 20-GA., 28-GA. and .410 bore. The Ranger’s Satin Silver receiver is available in checked Turkish Walnut or rugged black synthetic stock. Both versions offer a rubber buttpad for comfortable shooting and a ventilated rib for better sighting and accuracy. The Dickinson Ranger comes with a fixed Modified choke for 12-, 20- and 28-gauge models and a fixed Full choke on the .410 bore.
A Dickinson Ranger Youth Model is available in 12 gauge, 20 gauge and .410 bore with a 24-inch barrel. Designed to be easy to carry and handle, the shotgun is a great way to bring new people into the sport. Available with a walnut stock and fore-end and Silver Satin receiver, the shotgun has an “Old West” appearance.
Dickinson will also offer a Ranger Survival Model with a rugged black synthetic stock and 18.5-inch barrel. This model will be offered in 12 gauge. 20 gauge and .410 bore and will include a durable nylon carrying case with shoulder strap as standard equipment.
Does the 20 guage Ranger handle both 2 3/4 and 3 inch shells?
Oddly, I can’t even find the model on the company website to provide you an answer. I’ll drop a note early Monday before they get back to the shop and ask, then let you know. Thank you for taking the time to visit my modest blog and I sure hope you have a glorious Fourth of July.
I sent a note on Sunday morning and haven’t heard back…I’ll nag. I apologize for the delay. Hopefully they just took a long holiday.
I just received word back from the company, yes it does handle 3- and 2 3/4-inch shotshells in the 20 gauge. Hope that helps, and thank you for visiting my modest blog. Hope you come back and have a glorious day.
Anyone know if the 410 ranger survival model will handle 3″ shells? Can’t find any info.
Checking for you.
Just sent the note, I’ll let you know when I hear back. I can’t seem to find the shotgun on their website right now, either. Thank you for stopping by, and I sure hope you have a glorious day.
I heard back late last night. Yes, it will chamber 3-inch .410 shotshells. And it is still in production. They’re just updating the website and I guess I visited to check for you at the wrong time. Hope that helps and thank you so much for stopping by my modest blog. Hope you have a glorious day.
I picked up the Ranger .410 and to my disappointment the trigger is very heavy. There are very few reviews on this gun, I should have waited.
