From NRA
On behalf of the men, women and children who enjoy hunting and fishing, the National Rifle Association would like to thank U.S. Secretary of the Interior David Bernhardt as well as U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service Director Aurelia Skipwith for expanding hunting and fishing opportunities nationwide by 2.3 million acres. This historic increase brings the total expansion of areas Americans can utilize for hunting and fishing under President Donald Trump to approximately 4 million acres.
“No administration in modern history has done more to provide America’s sportsmen and women with greater opportunities to enjoy the outdoors than the Trump administration?,” said Erica Tergeson, the NRA’s director of the Hunters’ Leadership Forum. “This rule is just another example of the common sense actions that can make hunting and fishing more accessible to all Americans. Secretary Bernhardt and Director Skipwith continue to show their dedication to hunters and wildlife conservation. The NRA is grateful and proud to have worked with them on this effort.”?
The 2.3 million acre expansion reaches across 97 national wildlife refuges and nine national fish hatcheries. By bringing 900 distinct new hunting and fishing opportunities to America’s hunters and anglers, this expansion ranks as the largest in U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service history.
The NRA offers several online course for those looking to take advantage of this historic outdoor expansion. Whether it’s a hunter education refresher courses for seasoned hunters or a basic safety for first-time gun owners, there’s an opportunity for every sportsmen and women to sharpen or improve upon their skills: www.nrainstructors.org.
