Portland Extremists Target Journalist

Posted on August 21, 2020August 21, 2020 by Guy J. Sagi

Yesterday award-winning photojournalist Jon Jussero, from Seattle news station KIRO, was forced to seek shelter in his vehicle, where he was harassed and threatened by protesters in broad daylight on a busy city street. His Tweet during the situation is below.

Warning: The gestures and language are not suitable for children (if young ears and eyes are nearby).

Mob would not allow me to do my job today when trying to videotape KC Jail in Seattle. I tried to leave but they surrounded my car put items on windows & continued to terrorize me. He wisely sought safety in the vehicle during the encounter. The extremists placed objects on his windshield and continued circling the car, which made any attempt to drive to safely temporarily impossible with the pedestrians seen in the video crossing the street.

The strain on the city’s law enforcement, reduced budget and retiring police chief has taken its toll on response, a situation made obvious by Jussero being trapped, harassed and threatened on an obviously busy midtown street. Last Sunday rioters in Portland assaulted a man who stopped to help another person during late night violence.

And both in Portland and Chicago, the many of the protests have slowly migrated to the suburbs.
