From GiantMouse Knives
Good things really do come in small packages. GiantMouse Knives released the Riv this week, a compact folder in the company’s ACE line of folding knives. The Riv was designed in the lines of the Biblio but is a completely new design with its own feel and expression.
Why a compact knife? The knife’s designers, Jens Ansø and Jesper Voxnaes, grew up out in nature working the forest and doing chores around the house. They were taught to carry a fixed blade and a small folder. The fixed blade will perform most of the cutting tasks, but the folder should be kept razor sharp for finer tasks and be your back-up, if the fixed blade is lost or dulls. The Riv fills that role perfectly.
Here’s my complete list of the best new guns and gear for 2021.
The Riv is available in Titanium, Brass, and Green Canvas Micarta. While the green canvas Micarta version will be sold through dealers, the brass and full Ti versions are GiantMouse exclusives, and will only be available on the GiantMouse website. All feature Elmax blade steel, ball bearing pivot, and titanium frame lock.
The blades are 2.44″ (62mm) in length, measured from tip to forward-most aspect of the frame, and are 0.118″ (3mm) thick. The handles are 3.375″ (85.73mm) long. Giving the Riv an overall length of 5.75″ (146mm).
