Ruger is celebrating its 75th year anniversary this year and releasing special editions of some of its most popular firearms. The Ruger diamond anniversary limited-edition SR1911 pistol is one of the first to appear, and a striking example of the art we can expect to see throughout 2024.
Collectors and fans of the legendary gun maker need to move fast, though. Only 750 Ruger diamond anniversary limited-edition SR1911 pistols will be produced during 2024. Each will be identifiable by a special “R75” serial number prefix and MSRP is $1,799. Visit an FFL nearby to reserve one while they are still available.
The stainless Ruger SR1911, which was introduced in 2011 in honor of the 100th anniversary of the Government Model 1911, has earned numerous awards since it became available. They are completely made in America.
Ruger diamond anniversary limited-edition SR1911 pistols are something far above standard models, though. They feature a laser-engraved slide commemorating Ruger’s 75th anniversary and the company’s pride in American craftsmanship. Grip panels are customized with scrollwork to match the beautifully done slide. A specially marked 75th Anniversary lockable case ships with each gun, along with a pair of magazines—one with a 7-round capacity and another capable of holding 8 cartridges.
The pistol is stainless, features a titanium firing pin, extended magazine release, oversized beavertail grip safety, extended thumb safety and more. The frame-integral plunger tube for both the slide stop and thumb safety never shoots loose. It also has an aluminum skeletonized trigger with an adjustable over-travel stop and a skeletonized hammer.
With products made in America, Ruger offers consumers almost 800 variations of more than 40 product lines, across both the Ruger and Marlin brands. Ruger’s motto, “Arms Makers for Responsible Citizens,” echoes the company commitment to the principle.
